Phillyp’s dance journey began with dancehall, his primary style for four years, until he discovered kizomba music in 2012. Starting with passada, he quickly fell in love with kizomba, which captured his heart even as he explored salsa during that time. Eager to master his craft, Phillyp traveled across the U.S. and Europe, learning from the best in the genre. Today, he shares his passion worldwide, teaching in North America, Central America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. With over 100 events under his belt, Phillyp brings unmatched experience and infectious enthusiasm to every class. This will be an course for all of you who have danced kizomba before.

Urban Kiz is a couple dance style that may be considered a derivative of the Kizomba dance style. That's why the word Kiz is short for Kizomba. The word Urban is referred to the Hip hop, R&b, Rap, House genres that influence this dance style. Kizomba originated in Angola but Urban Kiz primarily originated in France around 2010. The dance evolved from Kizomba and incorporates different music styles such as Ghetto-Zouk, Tarraxinha, Afrobeat and remixes with R&B, Rap and Hip Hop.
